As the DC Universe gears up for their next epic event, DC’s The Source blog has provided a stream of weekly content teasing the upcoming events of Flashpoint. As the weeks progress leading up to the event, The Source is devoting all of their Friday content to Flashpoint for ‘Flashpoint Fridays’ and we’ve got a round up for all of today’s news. We’ve got teasers and spoilers abound, so hit the jump for more details.
First up, a new series of when, why, where, who and what teasers featuring some established DC characters:
When did Cyborg become our protector of Truth, Justice and the American Way?
Why is Citizen Cold the greatest hero of Central City?
Where will the Ravager strike next?
Who is the Outsider and why is he better than you?
What is top secret?
Next up is the cover to the first issue of Flashpoint, drawn by Andy Kubert featuring Batman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and The Flash.
Finally, like previous events, DC Direct will produce a line of action figures for Flashpoint. The Source included the first four figures as the last part of their update.
Now for a bit of analysis. Based on the some of the hints from today and the titles of the Flashpoint related tie-ins, I’ve got the following theories:
Based on the cover, today’s Cyborg related hint and the mini series; Project: Superman, I think that Cyborg will take the role of Superman in this alternate universe/timeline/whatever it is.
As hinted on the toy teaser and the mini series title, Wonder Woman will be the leader of the Furies.
As for the other hints, I don’t have any good theories, but I’m hoping that Citizen Cold is like Citizen Kane with Captain Cold instead of Kane.
