Welcome to the first installment of Sketchbook, where we’ll highlight comic book art that is worth your attention. If you’ve been listening to the podcast, we’ve made it pretty clear about how we feel about Marco Rudy‘s art. Dane and I have been huge fans of everything he does and this year looks to be a real breakout year for the artist. Over the past couple of weeks, Rudy has been posting pages from his upcoming gig on Jeff Lemire‘s Superboy, which will continue the Reign of Doomsday story. If we haven’t convinced you of Rudy’s brillance, take a look at the images we snagged from his DeviantArt page and included for you after the break.
If the images below are any indication, we’re in for one exciting battle between Doomsday and Superboy. Rudy draws a great Conner, but more importantly he nails the look and feel of a battle with Doomsday. Look for Superboy #6 to hit selves in April and enjoy the amazing talent of Marco Rudy.
