You can now add Chew to the growing list of comic to television adaptations that we’ve seen this year. Deadline Hollywood reports that Showtime is looking to develop John Layman and Rob Guillory’s Einser award-winning series as a “a quirky half-hour cop show” based on the plots from the comic. Ron Hughes and Terri Milbauer of Eureka fame have written a script that will now undergo some changes from Showtime. Stephen Hopkins will executive produce and direct the pilot episode.
For those unaware, Chew fouces on detective Tony Chu who is Cibopathic, meaning he can get psychic impressions from whatever he eats. I’m a huge fan of the series and I think it could fit perfectly with the other programming on Showtime.
