While his planned adaptation of the Neil Gaiman’s Sandman didn’t ever take off, the CW has again turned to Supernatural creator Eric Kripke to launch a comic TV series to fill the void Smallville left. According to a report from Deadline, Kripke will now turn his attention to the character of Deadman. The show will be produced by Warner Bros. TV.

Deadman is the alter-ego of Boston Brand, who has the power to control other people by taking control of their bodies. Deadman has received much attention this year, as he was one of the major characters in DC’s Brightest Day mini-series.

If there’s a person that can handle the more . . . er . . . supernatural elements of Deadman, it’s certainly Kripke. I’m more interested in this show than any of the other projects that Warner has been trying to adapt for the CW. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
