Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation

I recently visited the blog of director Edgar Wright (“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) and saw a video post he had made.

Adult Swim has produced a Scott Pilgrim animated short. The animation is taken straight from the panels of the graphic novel and is voiced by the actors from the film.

After watching this I think it’d be amazing to have an animated Scott Pilgrim TV series, watch the video and let me know what you think.

“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” Movie Review (Spoiler Free)

Well, the tale of epic epicness is finally upon us. I am of course talking of “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.” When I first saw the trailer to this movie many months ago, I immediately became very very excited to see this film. I have enjoyed the director Edgar Wright’s past two films (“Shaun of the Dead” & “Hot Fuzz”) immensely and I’ve been a fan of Michael Cera since he was on “Arrested Development,” so I definitely thought that film could hold up to it’s tagline “An epic of epic epicness.”

Well, a few weeks ago, I traveled to San Diego Comic-Con, and while there I was surrounded by promotion for Scott Pilgrim. The Scott Pilgrim Experience they held at Comic Con was amazing, being able to preview the soundtrack, get a free t-shirt made, meet Bryan Lee O’Malley, make a pretty cool flipbook with Cory & Dane, and test out the demo of the video game. Later that same day, Dane and I decided to go and get in line for an advance screening they were holding for the film. The waiting was a bad experience (sunburn and bad line management), but once we got inside the theater, all was forgotten.

“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game” Review

The Scott Pilgrim downloadable video game was released August 10th to the PlayStation Network ($9.99) and will be released on August 25th to XBOX Live .

Here is a short description of the gameplay:

Loosely following the plot of the graphic novels, up to four players can play as Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Stephen Stills or Kim Pine, who must battle through several levels in order to defeat Ramona’s seven evil exes. Characters have their own individual movesets, which can be expanded upon by gaining enough experience, and are also able to use weapons and summon Knives Chau to assist them. During co-operative play, certain actions can be performed such as simultaneously taunting to defeat enemies or reviving fallen comrades before they lose a life. Defeating enemies earns coins which can be spent on health items or attribute boosts. Players can also enter Subspace areas which act as bonus areas where extra coins can be earned. There is also a cheat code that, when entered on the title screen, will unlock a zombie survival mode.
