Leftovers for November 16, 2010

Welcome to today’s edition of Leftovers. We’ve some freshly reheated news for you, so sit down and make sure you clear your plate.

  • Over at The Source, Geoff Johns teased the next big Green Lantern event, ‘War of the Green Lanterns.’ Green Lantern #63 and Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #7 will serve as prequels to the event. Here’s what Johns had to say about the upcoming event:

From REBIRTH to SINESTRO CORPS to BLACKEST NIGHT, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner have stood by each other and fought together to save our universe. After all that, what could possibly tear them apart? We’ll find out in WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS starting in March’s WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS #1 and throughout the Green Lantern titles in March, April and May. Every Green Lantern is about to be tested — and tested against one another.

  • In other Green Lantern news, a mini trailer of footage leaked online over the weekend. Head on over to MTV SplashPage for the full look. I’m still not sold on the suit, but everything else looks outstanding.
  • Greg Pak will be writing a Sliver Surfer mini series. Check out CBR for the full solicit and some thoughts from Pak himself.
  • Director Darren Aronofsky confirmed over the weekend that he’ll be directing the next Wolverine movie which will be titled ‘The Wolverine.’ It will focus on Logan’s adventures over in Japan. Check out Hitfix for the full details including some more details about the plot of the movie.
  • The actress shortlist for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ reportedly contains Rachel Weisz, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Naomi Watts and Keira Knightley. Nolan is said to be looking for a two women, one to play a love intrest and the other for a villain role. Check out Deadline for the full report.

Leftovers: The News We Didn’t Post for 7/14/10

Howdy folks! Welcome to a new column called ‘Leftovers’! This is where we’ll post any news that we missed or just didn’t get around to posting. We’ve got a fair amount of news for today, so let’s take a look below:

  • IGN Movies has all the details on the Iron Man 2 Blu-ray and DVD sets. There looks to be a myriad of special features and I’m really interested in Jon Favreau’s director commentary.
  • Production Weekly tweeted yesterday that the ‘Runaways’ movie will go into production in January 2011 and will run through July 2011.
  • IGN Comics has the exclusive details on a new Loki mini series that will focus on his early years.
  • Geek Tyrant posted an exclusive about the Superman Reboot that has all tons of rumor news, including Jonathan Nolan directing, but more interesting is the rumor that ‘Chuck’ star Zachary Levi has auditioned for the lead role of Superman. We’ll see how this one shakes out, but it’s VERY interesting to say the least.
