The Avengers Extended Super Bowl Spot

Tonight’s Super Bowl didn’t bring much in the way of Comic Book movie trailers, but Marvel’s spot certainly brought it. This extended trailer for The Avengers shows off tons of new footage including a money shot of the team assembled for the first time. You can check out the spot below:

The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon, stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L. Jackson. The team is set to assemble on May 4, 2012.

EW Assembles Avengers, Bad Photoshopping Skills

No stranger to superhero cover stories, this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive on Marvel Studios’ The Avengers, which includes several new set photos and terribly Photoshopped cover. Director Joss Whedon had this to say about the production of the film thus far:

There is a weird element of: they handed me one of the biggest movies of all time, and I’m making it up as I go.

Whedon also says that the team won’t be all friends, but that doesn’t hold true for the cast members: “I was like, well, if they hate each other, I guess we can use that,” he shrugs. “But they don’t.”

We’ve included all the images after the jump, but outside of Whedon’s quote, we won’t have much to go on until the issue debuts Friday.

First Image of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman

Warner Bros. has released the first official photo of actress Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. The image was found over on the film’s official site and references Selina Kyle in the file name instead of the character’s alter-ego. As predicted, the suit looks similar to Darwyn Cooke’s design for the character. It will be interesting to see if the suit evolves past this, but this image proves that the look of the character is headed in the right direction.

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Josh Pence, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, and Nestor Carbonell. The film is set to release on July 20, 2012.

First Image of Henry Cavill as Superman

Warner Bros. has released the first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Synder‘s Man of Steel. The photo offers our first look at Kal-El in a suit that we may have seen some place else. Cavill certainly looks the part, although I’d like to see a brighter lit image next time around for a better look at the full costume. We’ve included the full, hi-res image below.

Set to release on June 14, 2013, Man of Steel stars CavillAmy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Julia Ormond, Russell Crowe, Chris Meloni, Harry Lennix and Laurence Fishburne.  The film is produced by Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer, from a story by Goyer and Nolan
