Paramount Pictures has released a shorter version of The Avengers trailer that runs in theaters after the Captain America credits. While the full trailer contains more footage from the Joss Whedon helmed superhero team-up, this teaser does give us our first chance to get a real good look at Captain America and Thor’s new costumes. We also catch quick glimses of Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and Jeremy Renner‘s Hawkeye. So what are you waiting for? Check out the trailer and screenshots after the break!

As we mentioned earlier in the week, Andrew Garfield made quite an impression before Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man panel, but did the panel itself impress as much as the man who will be Peter Parker did? Hit the jump for all the details.

We already know The Avengers sat out San Diego Comic-Con this year, but that didn’t stop Marvel from releasing some concept art from the film. Seven special edition posters were given away throughout the course of the convention, interlocking to create one epic banner, worthy of the movie itself. After the jump, we’ve got a look at each of the individual posters, plus a closer look at Captain America’s new suit for the Avengers and what Mark Ruffalo will look like as the Hulk.

You have no idea, you have no idea how much this means to me. I’ve always wanted to come here as a fan and this is my first time, so here I am, as a fan.

I just wanted to say a couple of things. I’m Andrew Garfield and I’m going to be here to introduce this panel, this Amazing Spider-Man panel. Stan Lee says that the reason why Spidey is so popular is because all of us can relate to him and I agree.

I needed Spidey in my life when I was a kid and he gave me hope. In every comic I read, he was living out my, and every skinny boy’s fantasy by being stronger. Of being free of the body I was born into and that swinging sensation of flight and upon receiving his power, unlike most who would become corrupted, he used it for good. And I think we all wished we had the courage to stick up for ourselves more, to stick up for our loved ones more, or even a stranger you see being mistreated.

Peter Parker has inspired me feel stronger. He made me, Andrew, braver. He reassured me that by doing the right thing, it’s worth it. It’s worth the struggle, it’s worth the pain, it’s worth even the tears, the bruises and the blood. And I wouldn’t be able to stand here in front of you guys right now without feeling that Spider-Man was here with me, with his reassuring hand on my shoulder making sure I don’t fall over and concuss myself. And He has inspired countless people: girls, boys, men, women, all of us.

And he’s saved lives. And he’s saved my life.

And I owe webhead a lot. I owe Stan the Man a lot. And I am humbled to be here, like you do not know, to share the work we have done with all of you. And this is my first Comic-Con.

And this is definitely the coolest moment of my life and thank you for being here and sharing it with me.

In what is easily one of the best moments of San Diego Comic-Con 2011, actor Andrew Garfield took the floor in Hall H before the Amazing Spider-Man panel to talk about just how much playing Spider-Man has meant to him. We’ll have details on the panel soon, but check out the video of Garfield’s speech to understand how humbled this young man truly is.

While Marvel Studios and Disney might not have a huge presence at San Diego Comic-Con this year, that hasn’t stopped them from launching the official website and releasing the first teaser poster for the film. We shouldn’t have to wait much longer, as Disney plans to release plenty of details during its D23 Expo at the end of August. We’ve included the poster below.

The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon, stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson. The team is set to assemble on May 4, 2012.

Sony has released the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man. Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is set to release in 3D on July 3, 2012.
