Yesterday, Sony Pictures released the official title, release date and costume picture for Marc Webb‘s upcoming Spider-Man reboot. The Amazing Spider-Man opens on July 3, 2012 and is currently being filmed in 3D. The press released listed the film’s official cast as Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field.
Sony also released a brand new image of Spidey’s costume which offers a fuller look at the over all design of the suit, including the mask.
The more I hear about this relaunch, the more excited I get. I believe that The Amazing Spider-Man is in good hands and will have a great cast to bring a fresh take on everyone’s favorite webhead.

So, I’m sure those of us who have combed over the entire Andrew Garfield Spidey suit in the new image that was released have noticed the shiny silver disc-like objects on his wrists. This led to speculation all over the web that the reboot will provide Peter Parker with webshooters instead of it being an organic addition to his superhuman abilities, a creation of the Tobey McGuire trilogy.
